About the Role

Robert E. Spiller Bowling Green Veterans Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are looking for a self-motivated, energetic Nurse Aide who possesses the desire to care for Kentucky’s Veterans. We have 2nd and 3rd shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, and hair and nail care.
• Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions by escorting them to the bathroom, providing bedpan or portable commodes.
• Check and record intake and output flow charts.
• Assist with meals and nourishment for residents requiring assistance and restorative dining.
• Perform total physical care to include assisting with meals, as well as helping to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of our Veterans.
• Measure and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration, and height, as instructed.
• Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis.

Strong interpersonal skills are required.

Requirements

• Must possess current registration with the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry as administered by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Kentucky Board of Nursing.
• Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.

Working Conditions

• May occasionally encounter unpredictable patient/resident behavior.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

Pay

• Base Salary: $17.96 hourly
• Locality Premium: $4.76 per hour (Warren County)
• Shift Premiums:
  • Second and Third shift: 15%
  • Weekend: 25%
  • Holiday: 25%
