About the Role

As a Nurse Aide in Training, you'll work under the supervision of licensed nurses while completing a State-Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program. You'll develop the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to become a successful Certified Nursing Assistant while providing compassionate care to residents.

What You'll Learn

  • Assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, assist residents with personal care and daily living activities
  • Help residents with meals, hydration, and comfort needs
  • Assist with ambulation, repositioning, and transfers
  • Answer call lights and respond to resident requests
  • Make beds and prepare resident rooms
  • Assist with meal service and dining room support
  • Organize resident rooms and personal belongings
  • Clean and sanitize resident care equipment
  • Monitor residents and report changes or concerns to the nursing team
  • Follow infection prevention and safety procedures
  • Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
  • Participate in orientation, in-service education, and ongoing training

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Currently enrolled in, or eligible to enroll in, a State-Approved Nurse Aide Training Program
  • BLS/CPR Certification preferred but not required
  • Compassionate, dependable, and eager to learn
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Desire to build a long-term career in healthcare
