Nurse Aide

Description of Work

This position provides hands-on support that promotes the comfort, safety, and daily well-being of residents at the Gino J. Merli Veterans' Center. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:

• Assist residents with daily living needs such as bathing, grooming, meals, and mobility based on individual plans of care
• Monitor resident conditions and share important changes with licensed nursing staff
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a hazard-free environment for residents
• Keep resident rooms neat, organized, and tidy to support a comfortable setting
• Move or escort residents safely to activities, appointments, or other locations as needed
• Document care and services accurately on required forms in line with facility standards

Qualifications Required

• Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
• Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch:
• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• You will work rotating days, weekends, and holidays. Every other weekend is required.

Pay

In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
