Job Description

This on-call position is a member of an outstanding nursing and direct care staff at the Juneau Pioneer Home and plays a vital role in providing person-centered care and support in a safe environment for up to forty-nine (49) elders.

Effective July 1, 2026 the wage for this position increased by 3%. The wage listed in this job posting reflects the increase.

What you will be doing

Provide high quality care to assisted living home residents in a warm, supportive, and caring manner. This position provides clinical and medication administration to residents and clinical support to the care teams. Focus will be on quality resident care, the growth, development, and empowerment of health care teams, and the promotion of assisted living philosophy and statutes.

The working environment

This job is located in the Juneau Pioneer Home, an assisted living home at 4675 Glacier Hwy. Juneau, Alaska. The home is nestled near Twin Lakes with breathtaking views of nearby mountains, the Gastineau Channel, and wildlife such as brown bears, eagles, ravens, blue herons, kingfishers, porcupines, deer, and squirrels.

Minimum Qualifications

• Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.

Additional Required Information

• At time of interview applicant must provide: - Two (2) professional references (including work/supervisor-related) and three (3) character references (personal) with current contact information.
• If selected and prior to hire, applicant will be asked to: - Submit to fingerprinting and criminal background check screening.
• Provide current evidence to be free from active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) with test results dated within the last 12 months prior to start date.
• Provide a copy of current CPR and First Aid certificate(s), if available.
• Provide current evidence of negative results to COVID-19 testing performed within 1 week prior to start date. See IMPORTANT NOTE below.
• Submit to regular COVID testing as required by the facility.
