About the Role
Various per-diem shifts are open at multiple Shields locations, including Harwich and Sandwich. Weekend shifts, shift differentials, and incentives are available. Permanent positions with $20,000 sign-on bonuses are also offered.
Responsibilities
- Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
- Adhere to rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
- Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
- Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
- Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
- Ensure the patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
- Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
- Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
- Complete all forms pertaining to the patient’s exam.
- Record patient data in the Tech Data Entry program.
- Provide and issue films when appropriate.
- Forward PET-related data to the radiologist upon completion of the exam.
- Refilm cases as time allows.
- Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
- Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.
Requirements
- Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which employed.
- Must be certified in CPR.
- Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
- A minimum of one year of prior nuclear medicine experience is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be proficient in starting IVs.
- Must be able to sit and utilize a computer for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
