Responsibilities

  • Makes independent decisions applying extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the management of assigned projects.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with clients, including professional and social interactions with key home office and site individuals.
  • Serves as a liaison between client and company, identifying client needs and expectations, including upcoming major projects, and communicating these needs to relevant individuals.
  • Communicates client feedback regarding work performance and facilitates process improvements as appropriate.
  • Works with clients to address and resolve issues related to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
  • Collaborates with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to prepare proposals for client work, developing project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.
  • Maintains oversight of all ongoing projects, including monitoring budget, schedule, scope changes, reviewing deliverables against scope and client expectations, participating in company weekly schedule meetings, and preparing monthly status reports.
  • Maintains contractual requirements, addresses and resolves contractual issues, initiates contract changes, and facilitates payment for services.
  • Reviews, approves, and corrects invoices related to project work.
  • Understands and communicates client's processes and procedures to company staff, facilitating training as needed.
  • Coordinates projects from early phases through design and final project completion, preparing Project Plans, budgets, and schedules, and controlling project scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is required. MS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is desired.
  • Experience: 10 years (minimum) of experience with design engineering, project management, and client relations is required. Experience with operating plant procedures, processes, budget analysis, and budget forecasting is required. Experience managing, motivating, and organizing team members, communicating, and providing technical direction and task assignments is required.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point), effective time management skills, knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques, ability to pass security and drug screening, and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
  • Other Qualifications: Professional Engineering registration (EIT or PE), and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification are highly preferred.
