Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Per Diem, Day Shift

Responsibilities
- Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment.
- Administers medical substances for imaging or other procedures.
- Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
- Captures pertinent patient information and disseminates subsequent patient preparation instructions to patient care areas.
- Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction or subject matter expertise.
- Prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment.
- Prepares stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculates doses to be administered by radiologists.
- Subjects patients to radiation.
- Executes blood volume, red cell survival, and fat absorption studies following standard laboratory techniques.
- Administers intravenous injections in accordance with established procedures.
- Documents all pertinent information regarding radioactive materials and surveys in accordance with departmental procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma/certificate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine: Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent: Preferred
- License/Certification: Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Required in OR
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine OR Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Required in CA and OR
- Facility Specific License/Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or National Nuclear Med Tech (NMTCB): Required
