Qualifications
- Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Minimum of 18 months of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and one (1) year as a Radiology Technologist
- Certified/ARRT (N) and/or CNMT certified
- Valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
Responsibilities
- Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans
- Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes and record dosages for patients in accordance with physicians' orders
- Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce images of organs on photographic film
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
- Carefully, compassionately, and respectfully perform technical procedures
- Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using computerized systems (MEDITECH)
