RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Somerville, NJ.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
• PET Experience a Plus
• Two years hospital experience as a staff technologist
• Certifications and Licenses Required: Current NJ State license, ARRT, and/or BLS certification

Essential Functions

• Performs all hot lab related functions
• Calibrates the dose calibrator and performs QC procedures on gamma cameras
• Identifies patients both IP and OP per hospital SOP
• Explains the procedure to the patient clearly including wait times and performs the procedure assuring maximum comfort
• Obtains best possible images by using prescribed technical parameters and techniques
• Affirms that all tests are performed properly and test results are valid and accurate prior to the release of the patient
• Assists the nuclear physician with the implementation of special imaging procedures
• Maintains the department in a neat and clean condition
• Accepts special assignments from supervisor and completes them on time
• Abides by standards established by the hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies
• Offers assistance to physicians, patients, families, visitors, and co-workers
• Responds to instruction from peers or superiors in order to complete department tasks
• Determines the proper time to discuss differences in work strategy
• Performs other departmental duties as prescribed by supervisory personnel
• Works overtime when needed
• Assists in the performance of non-technical tasks within the department
• Performs other duties as needed
