Essential Functions And Duties
- Performs Radionuclide Diagnostic exams, therapies, and procedures.
- Prepares radioactive isotope for administration to patients including all necessary quality controls.
- Reviews physician orders, enters orders and documents in the EMR and PACS appropriately.
- Performs nuclear stress testing and have basic knowledge of EKG.
- Inserts intravenous catheters and injects medication and radioactive isotopes.
- Operates all equipment within the Nuclear Medicine Department.
- Quality Control procedures and calibration of equipment.
- Knowledge of Oregon Radioactive Materials License requirements, Radiation Safety policies, and pertinent record keeping.
- Follows Health and Safety Policies and procedures of quality patient care.
- Assists with special projects as requested.
- Participates in student training program and orientation of new personnel.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge and adheres to the radiation Safety Guidelines outlined in Oregon Radioactive Materials License, Oregon Rules for the Control of Radiation, the hospital ALARA Policy, and as directed by the SCHS Radiation Safety Committee.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED. Graduate /registry eligible, of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Training Program.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.

- Knowledge of Oregon Radioactive Materials License requirements, Radiation Safety policies, and pertinent record keeping.
