About the role
This position competently performs imaging on nuclear medicine equipment under the supervision of a radiologist and direction of the Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist. The role involves following scanning and imaging protocols, recognizing cross-sectional anatomy, performing scans and injecting isotopes where applicable, and providing service excellence while complying with hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Follows scanning and imaging protocols
- Recognizes cross-sectional anatomy and performs scans and injects isotopes as needed
- Provides service excellence and complies with hospital policies and procedures
- Uses RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording of patient exams and dissemination of patient results
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completed an AMA approved and accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Recent, up to one year, hospital related experience
- Digital Imaging and post processing PACS experience
- Certified by the nuclear medicine technology certification board (N.M.T.C.B.) or ARRT certification
- Current Vt. state NMRT license
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association
- Obtain 24 ECE credits within a two-year period for re-certification and licensure

- Advanced assessment skills pertinent to the specialty area
- Ability to change procedure and/or perform additional studies to evaluate and demonstrate the area of concern, providing optimal diagnostic exams
- Ability to evaluate the appropriateness of examinations based on the clinical information provided
- Ability to plan, organize, set goals and objectives for review and evaluation
- Intermediate Microsoft desktop application skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
