About the role

We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a full-time/part-time/PRN/per diem/as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans
  • Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders
  • Administer and record dosages as well
  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce images of organs on photographic film
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
  • Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address concerns
  • Demonstrate competency in various procedures such as Biliary, Brain Spect, Bone Scan, Cardiac, Cisternogram, Colonic Bleed, Prostascint, Gallium, Gastric Emptying, GI Bleed, Indium Scan, Liver, MIBG, Octreoscan
  • Maintain monitoring, recording, and communication records using computerized documentation (MEDITECH)
  • Aid in transporting patients as needed

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist program (AMA-Approved School)
  • Current/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred
  • Current registry: NMTCB or ARRT (N)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of GAMMA cameras
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Current/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current registry: NMTCB or ARRT (N)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of GAMMA cameras
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Skills

  • Proficiency in computerized documentation (MEDITECH)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
