About the role
We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a full-time/part-time/PRN/per diem/as-needed basis.
Responsibilities
- Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans
- Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders
- Administer and record dosages as well
- Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce images of organs on photographic film
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
- Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address concerns
- Demonstrate competency in various procedures such as Biliary, Brain Spect, Bone Scan, Cardiac, Cisternogram, Colonic Bleed, Prostascint, Gallium, Gastric Emptying, GI Bleed, Indium Scan, Liver, MIBG, Octreoscan
- Maintain monitoring, recording, and communication records using computerized documentation (MEDITECH)
- Aid in transporting patients as needed
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist program (AMA-Approved School)
- Current/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist preferred
- Current registry: NMTCB or ARRT (N)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of GAMMA cameras
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Current/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Current registry: NMTCB or ARRT (N)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of GAMMA cameras
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
Skills
