Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
- No prior experience required.
- Active MRT certification from the Texas Medical Board.
- ARRT Nuclear Medicine (N) or CNMT certification within 6 months.
- CPR certification required.
Skills And Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biomedical sciences.
- Basic understanding of EKG for cardiac studies.
- Ability to administer injections and start IV lines.
- Proficient in operating gamma cameras, SPECT/CT, PET/CT scanners, and related equipment.
- Basic knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control, troubleshooting, and maintenance of nuclear medicine equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate procedures.
- Document all operations, including radioactive material handling, quality control data, patient procedures, and medical records.
- Identify process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and efficiency.
- Provide clinical instruction to students and residents.
- Stay current with advancements in the field through seminars, journals, and professional organizations.
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, physicians, and patients to ensure effective communication.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, laws, and accreditation standards by developing internal controls and seeking guidance as needed.
