Nuclear Medicine Technician - PRN

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
  • Requires an active MRT certification from the Texas Medical Board and current ARRT (N) or CNMT certification within 6 months.
  • CPR certification is also required or obtained during orientation.

Skills And Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine technology, chemistry, physics, and biomedical sciences.
  • Basic understanding of EKG for cardiac studies.
  • Ability to administer injections and start IV lines.
  • Proficiency in operating Gamma cameras, SPECT/CT, PET/CT scanners, and nuclear medicine computers.
  • Knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control and troubleshooting on equipment, ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate procedures.
  • Document all laboratory operations, including radioactive material handling and patient procedures.
  • Identify process improvements and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Provide clinical training for students and residents.
  • Stay updated on field advancements through seminars, journals, and professional organizations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and other healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, developing internal controls as needed.
