Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Science, or related healthcare field.
- No prior experience required.
- Must hold active MRT certification from the Texas Medical Board and current ARRT (N) or CNMT certification within 6 months.
- CPR certification is also required or obtained during orientation.
Skills & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine technology, chemistry, physics, and biomedical sciences.
- Basic understanding of EKG for cardiac studies.
- Ability to administer injections, start IVs, and operate gamma cameras, SPECT/CT, PET/CT scanners, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments.
Responsibilities
- Performing quality control and troubleshooting on equipment.
- Collaborating with physicians to determine appropriate procedures.
- Documenting all laboratory operations, including radioactive material handling and patient procedures.
- Identifying process improvements and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Providing clinical instruction to students and residents.
- Staying current with industry advancements through seminars, journals, and professional organizations.
- Maintaining positive relationships with staff, physicians, nurses, residents, and patients.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, and developing internal controls for adherence.
