Nuclear Medicine Technician - PRN

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Science, or related healthcare field.
• No prior experience required.
• Must hold active MRT certification from the Texas Medical Board and current ARRT (N) or CNMT certification within 6 months.
• CPR certification is also required or obtained during orientation.

Skills & Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine technology, chemistry, physics, and biomedical sciences.
• Basic understanding of EKG for cardiac studies.
• Ability to administer injections, start IVs, and operate gamma cameras, SPECT/CT, PET/CT scanners, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments.

Responsibilities

• Performing quality control and troubleshooting on equipment.
• Collaborating with physicians to determine appropriate procedures.
• Documenting all laboratory operations, including radioactive material handling and patient procedures.
• Identifying process improvements and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Providing clinical instruction to students and residents.
• Staying current with industry advancements through seminars, journals, and professional organizations.
• Maintaining positive relationships with staff, physicians, nurses, residents, and patients.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, and developing internal controls for adherence.
