About the Role

Join the Nuclear Medicine staff within the Radiology Department at MetroHealth, a system with nearly two centuries of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in Northeast Ohio. This role serves a diverse patient population, including underserved communities, trauma/emergency patients, cardiac patients, stroke patients, cancer patients, and those in orthopedics, podiatry, neurology, PM&R, and surgical planning.

Responsibilities

  • Produce quality Nuclear Medicine and PET images in various settings.
  • Perform IV starts and therapeutic planning, including advanced Theranostics.
  • Coordinate and schedule patients for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
  • Educate patients on procedures, equipment, medications, and examinations to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Utilize critical thinking and effective communication in high-stress environments with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with the Nuclear Medicine team and other care providers, including nurses, physicians, and respiratory therapists.
  • Perform technical procedures using scanning equipment for disease diagnosis, adhering to MetroHealth policies and ODH regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
  • Registered Radiology Technologist with ARRT or NMTCB certification.
  • Valid Ohio Radiographer License (ODH).
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification (or obtained within the probationary period).
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Nuclear Medicine.

Skills

  • Patient scheduling and coordination.
  • On-the-spot critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Ability to function well under stress and independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

  • Variable shift with a rotating schedule, including weekends and call duties.
  • Biweekly hours: 16.
  • Collaborative work with nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and other care team members.

Physical Requirements

  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • May need to lift, pull, or push over 50 lbs.
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must see and hear within normal visual and audio ranges, with or without correction.
