Responsibilities
- Performs Nuclear Medicine and PET CT studies, which require theoretical insight and experience.
- Exercises complex skill, judgement and knowledge of the principles and methods of the Nuclear Medicine field.
- Trains new Nuclear Medicine Technologists as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Maintains current NYS licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
- 1-2 years’ experience preferred.
Systems and Equipment Used
- Medical record (eRecord), PACS, Radiology Information System (RIS), patient transport, communication systems, web paging, telephone/fax, printers.
- Wheelchairs, Stretchers, Patient beds, Medrad Injector, patient transfer assist devices (slider boards, lifts, hover mats), Point of Care Testing (POCT).
- Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, gamma counters, electronic instruments, recorders, computer equipment and other equipment of similar scope and complexity.
