NTX/OK/AR Water Business Development Manager

Responsibilities
Leading the development and implementation of an overall area growth strategy
Maintaining and expanding existing client relationships
Identifying, establishing, and growing relationships with new target clients
Developing market networks
Positioning HDR for project opportunities that result in client selection and award
Leading project pursuits, including development of winning approaches, preparation of proposals and presentations in collaboration with area marketing staff, quality review, and coaching presentation teams
Collaborating with our South-Central Region Business Development Director and other area Business Development Managers within the region to achieve regional strategic initiatives
Potential involvement in program and operations leadership to develop and implement an annual plan, including tactical and strategic initiatives for achieving growth objectives and financial goals
Analyzing and qualifying potential clients that align with professional and financial value to the firm
Monitoring new market trends and participating in the development and implementation of area tactical and strategic planning
Identifying and leveraging contacts and assisting in building relationships with targeted clients
Partnering with program and operations leadership to develop and implement an annual plan, including tactical (i.e., near-term) and strategic (i.e., long-term) initiatives for achieving growth objectives and financial goals
Participating in industry conferences, seminars, professional associations, and other external water-focused organizations to develop business contacts, promote HDR, and engage potential clients and partners
Maintaining client relationships and, in certain cases, supporting project delivery by serving as Project Principal or client-facing Project Manager for key clients
Identifying and developing potential projects and collaborating with national and local resources to develop and implement successful proposals and interviews that result in shortlisting and selection
Collaborating with marketing services staff, including marketing coordinators and proposal managers, to develop qualifications, proposals, interview presentations, specialty brochures, and other marketing information promoting the water program
Mentoring marketing staff, client service managers, and pursuit leaders in developing persuasive marketing deliverables and client-centered presentations with strategic messaging
Implementing company marketing policies and procedures
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering (preferred), professional, or related field
Professional engineering registration in Texas is strongly preferred, or similar technical credentials/experience
Minimum 15 years of experience with program development, pursuit management, and client relationship development in the water consulting industry
Proven business development success in the water consulting industry
Existing network of clients and teaming partners in Texas is preferred
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams

Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services
Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
Demonstrated ability to build a network of clients and industry partners
Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies
Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person
Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff
