NQVL Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a full- or part-time Project Manager for the UM-led NSF National Quantum Virtual Laboratory on Quantum Photonic Integration and Deployment (QuPID). During QuPID's two-year Phase-2 design stage, the Project Manager will lead the management framework for developing chip-based quantum sensor technology that is portable, robust, and deployable outside the highly controlled laser-laboratory environments typically required for today's quantum sensors.
Responsibilities
- Project management, especially systems engineering and project execution planning
- Development and use of project-management tools and protocols
- Coordination of multi-institutional and multi-stakeholder projects
- Proposal preparation and federal research-program reporting
- Coordination and reporting for workforce development, outreach, and partnerships
- Ensure all reporting and milestones are delivered on time
- Work with Research Administrators on compliance, and budget requirements for the project
- Develop and foster close working relationships with inter- and cross-collaborative units and project collaborators, within/outside of the University
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering, physical sciences, computer science, business management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects to deadline
- Careful attention to detail
- Ability to both work independently and as an effective team member
