NPDI Project Manager MV SWGR - IEEE GIS

Position Summary

The MV SWGR (Switchgear) Project Manager IEEE GIS leads and executes product lifecycle activities for the Switchgear PL in the Americas. The role works with a cross-functional team to create the product idea, run the development, bring the product to market, and close out post-launch activities. Additionally, the role involves working with Product Management to phase out old products that are no longer in service. Scheduling and budget adherence are critical to this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Vertiv NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) process for product development as well as phase out.
  • Work closely with the MV SWGR Product Manager to develop the new product's requirement specification, considering the data center and commercial industrial markets.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop the feature specification, ensuring the project team delivers what is expected at the right cost and within the specified timeframe.
  • Aid the Product Manager in creating literature and promotional materials for launching and supporting the project.
  • Ensure prototypes are managed with operations to meet delivery deadlines for testing labs and product launches.
  • Work with sales, pricing, and finance to ensure the product achieves both project and commercial success financially.
  • Report project progress to executives and align it with other projects within the Vertiv portfolio.
  • Ensure the team develops and loads attributed data to support Oracle, PD Cloud, and other configuration systems.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineers to ensure product manufacturability and manage associated capital investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or marketing in the electrical apparatus industry.
  • MBA beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing operations and working with cross-functional teams to identify and execute on priority actions.
  • Strong ability to drive and accept change, continuous improvement processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Experience with Smartsheet and Power BI.
  • Ability to directly interface with Vertiv internal stakeholders, including executives and technical levels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional meetings and presenting to small groups, both in person and via digital conference calls.
  • Experience with NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
  • Curiosity and a lifelong learner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable working autonomously.
  • Experience in introducing new processes to an existing organization.
  • Demonstrated competence in problem-solving, data analysis, and project management.
  • Direct experience in UL891 and UL1558 design for low-voltage electrical apparatus (less than 600V).
  • Direct experience with MV SWGR AIS and GIS IEEE.
  • Direct experience with low-voltage (less than 600V) electrical components like circuit breakers, transformers, meters, arc flash mitigation equipment, etc.
