NPD Engineering Co-Op
About the role
This position supports the Engineering team and other managers in the facility through various tasks and projects, assisting with continuous improvement of production levels and quality through innovation in equipment design, repair, and maintenance. The role focuses on maximizing equipment availability and minimizing downtime.
Ideal candidates can start in December/January and work 15-20 hours per week during the school year, with full-time hours (40 per week) during summer and breaks. Interns may come from mechanical, electrical, or welding engineering backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting and documenting critical machine breakdowns and processes through root cause analysis.
- Support other engineers in the design and budgeting of projects.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and AutoCAD.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and multitasking abilities.
- Completed at least two years of a college degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related field.
Schedule
- 15-20 hours per week during the school year.
- 40 hours per week during summer and breaks.
