Responsibilities
- Provides specialized, evidence-based care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Delivers care across inpatient, outpatient, and consultative settings, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions and infusions.
- Maintains medically complex patients, develops and implements treatment plans, orders and interprets diagnostic studies, and administers therapies such as chemotherapy, transfusions, and supportive care.
- Works closely with OHSU Pediatric Hematology/Oncology attending physicians to provide local care aligned with OHSU treatment recommendations.
- Engages in patient and family education, care coordination, discharge planning, quality improvement activities, and adheres to safety and regulatory standards.
- Completes initial training at the OHSU Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic to gain familiarity with protocols and establish collaborative relationships.
Requirements
- Prior NP or PA experience in pediatric hematology/oncology
- BLS and PALS
- NP: Graduate of an NP program; NP and RN licensure through Oregon State Board of Nursing
- PA: PA-C certification (NCCPA); licensure through Oregon Board of Medical Examiners
- Additional specialty certifications as required by Asante Medical Staff Services
