About the role

Join Cook Children’s NEST (NICU Early Support and Care Transition (NEST) Developmental Follow-Up Center), a multidisciplinary program dedicated to supporting NICU graduates and their families from discharge through age five.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive developmental follow-up care for premature and medically complex infants, conducting assessments.
  • Coordinate care with specialty services, including physicians, psychologists, therapists, dietitians, and behavioral health providers.
  • Connect families with community resources to optimize each child’s long-term growth, health, and potential.
  • Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to ensure early identification of developmental concerns.

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurses: Master’s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
  • Physician Assistants: Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred. Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurses: Current Texas professional registered nurse license, Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license, Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required, Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred*.
  • Physician Assistants: Current Texas professional physician assistant license, Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant, Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required, Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required, Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred*.

Skills

  • Strong clinical skills in pediatric care.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of developmental milestones and pediatric health care practices.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 annually.

Schedule

This is a First Shift position, working standard weekly hours of 36.
