About the role

Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, working independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. May care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.

Full-time position (1.0 FTE) with clinic hours Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Includes outreach/telemedicine 2–3 times per month in regional locations.

Skill set includes independent clinic visits, vast knowledge of heart and vascular pathophysiology, congestive heart failure, and strong patient communication and educational skills.

Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

Work collaboratively within the Fargo Cardiology team-based model that includes physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, techs, and ancillary staff in the Heart & Vascular Department.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent clinic visits
• Apply advanced knowledge of heart and vascular pathophysiology
• Manage congestive heart failure cases
• Provide patient education and communication
• Participate in outreach/telemedicine 2–3 times per month

Requirements

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (for NP) or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (for PA) from an accredited program
• Preferred background/experience in Cardiology
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP); must obtain ND & MN licensure
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state; must obtain ND & MN licensure
• Current certification in CPR
• National certification in applicable area
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice

Location

Centrally located in the heart of the Lakes Area. Options include:

• Detroit Lakes (population: 8,500)
• Park Rapids (population: 4,000)

1 hour from Fargo and 3 hours from the Twin Cities. Regional service area consists of 5 clinics and 1 hospital.

Pay

Compensation range: $119,433.60 – $167,211.20

Hired candidates may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives, or production-based compensation.
