About the Role

Join a unique multidisciplinary clinic where the Infectious Disease Advanced Practice Provider (APP) partners closely with Orthopedic Surgery to provide specialized care for patients with complex musculoskeletal and orthopedic infections. The APP will function as the infectious disease specialist within the clinic, managing antimicrobial therapy, monitoring treatment response, coordinating care across disciplines, and supporting patients through their infection treatment journey. This role offers a high level of autonomy while being embedded within a collaborative orthopedic care model focused on improving outcomes and preserving function for patients with complex infections.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily outpatient position serving as the Infectious Disease APP within a multidisciplinary clinic alongside Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with prosthetic joint infections, osteomyelitis, septic arthritis, and other musculoskeletal infections.
  • Antimicrobial management and interpretation of laboratory and culture data.
  • Patient education and care coordination.
  • Collaboration with orthopedic surgeons on treatment planning and longitudinal follow-up.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing with clinical specialization required.
  • Two years of work experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • Current license to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
  • Demonstrated effective skills in consultation.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) practice specialization is preferred.
