Norton Cancer Institute (NCI) - APP Fellow
About the role
The Advanced Practice Provider fellow provides healthcare to patients with an emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion, health maintenance, and supportive care. This includes diagnosing, prescribing treatment, managing/evaluating patient care, and functioning as an educator, healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
The fellow will work collaboratively with other providers within the service line to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. On occasion, the fellow may rotate within other relevant service lines or specialties for learning opportunities and experiences.
The fellow is jointly responsible for service to Norton Healthcare and Sullivan University, with the expectation of completing a major fellowship project and participating in training/lecturing at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - Physician Assistant Program. This is a 1-year, non-tenure fellowship focused on learning and specialization in the management of critically ill patients.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and prescribe treatment for patients
- Manage and evaluate patient care
- Serve as an educator, healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate
- Collaborate with other providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
- Rotate within other relevant service lines or specialties for learning opportunities
- Complete a major fellowship project
- Participate in training and lecturing at Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - Physician Assistant Program
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- One of the following credentials: APRN, PA, or PAC
- One year of clinical experience
- National Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse certification
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Master’s degree
- One year of experience in the specialty area
