Northwest Youth Corps - Forestry Technician
Member Duties
Serving with FS employees maintaining, constructing, and clearing trails (33%), maintaining campgrounds and recreational sites (33%), and cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment (33%). Requires hiking/working outdoors with a crew of 20 people, small groups of 2-4, and/or independently. Projects include trail construction, trail maintenance using chainsaws and hand tools, recreation facility improvements, forestry-related tasks, constructing bridges and boardwalks, and other carpentry projects. One or two week-long backcountry trail work camps will require tent camping and backpacking gear (provided by FS if needed).
