Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field
- 10-15+ years of experience working in the transportation industry in North Carolina with clients, stakeholder agencies, and the general public desired
- Experience with environmental science, environmental permitting, and NEPA/SEPA experience desired
- Proficient in GIS software, Microsoft and Adobe software, and understanding of Microstation or CADD software
- Proficiency with technical writing, communication software, technology, health and safety protocols, and tools
- Able to manage multiple tasks and work with a collaborative team
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Your Impact
- Planning and overseeing higher level natural resources field investigations
- Performing on-site natural resources field investigations and/or inspections
- Collecting samples of soil, water, air, and biological materials to assess environmental conditions
- Aiding in the formulation and review of environmental policies, regulations, and standards
- Managing and executing natural components of transportation and other engineering projects
- Writing detailed technical reports, permitting packages, and documentation summarizing field findings, project outcomes, and compliance with environmental regulations
- Evaluating the environmental impact of proposed transportation projects or activities
