Nonferrous Yard Laborer

About the role

The Non-Ferrous Laborer supports the Non-Ferrous Sorter in sorting and processing non-ferrous materials, including aluminum, copper, brass, and stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Non-Ferrous Sorter in sorting and processing non-ferrous materials.
• Prepare materials for sale by segregating and cleaning.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking the movement of materials.
• Foster positive relationships with customers and vendors to encourage repeat business and maintain a positive reputation in the industry.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Ability to follow safety guidelines and regulations.

Physical demands

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Physical stamina and endurance to work in all weather conditions and for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.

Qualifications

• Experience in salvage yard operations preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
