Non-Tenure Track Lecturer in Database Management: Data Science, ML & AI

About the role

The Rochester Institute of Technology’s School of Information is hiring two Non-Tenure Track Lecturers, beginning either January or August 2025, in the areas of Database Systems and Management, Data Science, Machine Learning/AI, Object-oriented Programming in Python and Java, and/or Project Management. These are primarily teaching positions.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Database Systems and Management, Data Science, Machine Learning/AI, Object-oriented Programming in Python and Java, and/or Project Management.
• Develop and maintain course materials and syllabi.
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment activities.
• Assist in student advising and mentoring.
• Contribute to the ongoing research and development of the iSchool.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience teaching in the areas of Database Systems and Management, Data Science, Machine Learning/AI, Object-oriented Programming in Python and Java, and/or Project Management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and staff.
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to excellence in education.
