Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician III

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares for certification exams and successfully passes MIL-STD-2132 UT Examiner and ASNT UT Level III tests.
  • Administers the training, examination, and certification programs NDT Level I and Level II inspectors, and Level III at facilities in Oregon and Alabama.
  • Provides technical support and performance monitoring for the day-to-day operations of NDT personnel inspecting mill shapes and final components.
  • Develops, qualifies, and approves test method procedures and techniques for NDT.
  • Ensures compliance of testing activities with Customer, Industry, and Government specifications and standards.
  • Documents NDT processes with the expectation of performing continuous improvement of those processes and associated testing systems.
  • Performs internal and external auditing requirements.
  • Supports calibration and maintenance of NDT instrumentation.

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree required.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in a manufacturing environment as a UT Level II and/or meet ASNT’s minimum requirements for Level III test qualification.
  • Ability to obtain a MIL-STD-2132 UT Examiner Certification.

Preferred Certifications And Licensing

  • Experience and certification in Penetrant (PT) and Radiography (RT).

Skilled In Communicating progress & results effectively both verbally & through written technical reports & presentations. Communication extends across business disciplines. Ongoing contact with others outside their immediate work group, including technology, operations, and customers.

Strong problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Ability To Demonstrate ability to identify and implement continuous improvement in all areas of the business. Ability to apply analytical thinking to address complex problems based on product & process data.

Qualifications

Ability to travel domestically occasionally.

Pay

$92,000 to $120,000/annually + variable additional compensation opportunities.
