Non-credit Instructor Practical Nursing, Part-time

About the role

Penn College is seeking dedicated, student-focused nursing professionals to join our team as Non-Credit Practical Nursing Instructors. This part-time role involves providing high-quality instruction and/or clinical supervision to students enrolled in our clock-hour Practical Nursing Program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the next generation of compassionate, skilled practical nurses through expert instruction and clinical supervision.
• Work at both Williamsport and Wellsboro locations, with the option to indicate a preferred campus during the application process.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English.
• Develop organizational skills and maintain current CPR certification.
• Provide non-credit classroom and/or clinical instruction in the clock-hour practical nursing program.
• Identify and resolve student performance issues, offer effective supervision and instruction in the clinical area, and assist with laboratory development.
• Assist other non-credit instructors and school administrators with various tasks and maintain daily attendance records.
• Attend meetings and clinical facility orientations as required.
• Comply with policies and procedures of clinical sites and maintain functional ability with microcomputer functions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure (Required)
• One (1) year of clinical nursing experience within two years of employment (Required)
• Relevant teaching experience on the secondary or post-secondary level (Preferred)
• Certified in CPR at the Basic Life Support level or higher and maintain certification (Required)
• Valid driver's license (Required)
• Ability to work independently and provide feedback to students (Required)
• Functional ability with microcomputer functions (Required)
• Knowledge of learning theory and classroom management techniques (Required)
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time, perform multiple physical positioning, and have fine motor dexterity (Required)
