Location: Austin, TX | Facility: Dell Children's Medical Center | Department/Specialty: Imaging Administration

Schedule

Day Shift | Monday - Friday 8:00a - 5:00p

How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Orchestrate High-Volume Patient Intake: Provide a welcoming, professional front-line experience by checking in patients, verifying demographics, and preparing them for their imaging appointments.
  • Manage Complex Diagnostics Scheduling: Efficiently coordinate and book diagnostic imaging slots, balancing provider availability with patient preferences within the scheduling system.
  • Command Imaging Media & CD Production: Meticulously burn, package, and distribute diagnostic imaging CDs for patients and referring physicians in strict compliance with HIPAA and medical release policies.
  • Deliver Seamless Patient Navigation: Provide clear, compassionate verbal and written directions to patients navigating the facility, ensuring they understand pre-procedure instructions.
  • Provide Cross-Functional Clinical Support: Leverage previous clinical exposure (such as PCT or Medical Clerk background) to anticipate patient needs, assist with room turnaround cues, and maintain a highly organized reception suite.

Minimum requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional preferences

  • Bilingual Fluency (Required): Fully bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate medical terms and facility directions clearly to a diverse patient population.
  • Proven Healthcare Foundation: Prior experience as a Patient Care Technician (PCT), CNA, or Medical Clerk is required to ensure a smooth transition into an active diagnostic imaging environment.
  • Digital Media & Computer Agility: Comfortable using computer systems to manage scheduling databases and perform digital media tasks (e.g., burning CD-ROMs and retrieving patient electronic files).
  • Compassionate Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with a patient-centric mindset to ease anxieties associated with diagnostic imaging.
  • Detail-Oriented Multitasker: Strong organization and time-management skills to handle checking in patients, incoming phone calls, and media distribution simultaneously.
