A Day in the Life of a Non-Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist-MLS/MT
Support patient care by performing specimen collection, analytical testing, and accurate result reporting in a hospital laboratory.
- Work under the supervision of certified laboratory professionals while following established procedures and regulatory standards.
- Complete tasks in a fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail, quality control, and instrument maintenance.
- Daily collaborate with nurses, providers, and laboratory leadership to communicate results and address patient needs.
- Span multiple laboratory disciplines, requiring adaptability, organization, and a commitment to continuous learning.

At the Laboratory of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, we deliver accurate, timely, and vital diagnostic testing that empowers providers, specialists, and care teams to make informed treatment decisions for their patients.
- Deliver real-time results for emergency medicine, surgeries, and inpatient care.
- Support trauma cases, ICU patients, and complex disease management with rapid and specialized testing.
- Vital to hospital operations, patient safety, and treatment outcomes.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of standard laboratory principles, instrumentation, and procedures required.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science (International candidates must provide a foreign degree equivalency certificate).
- A copy of the highest diploma or transcript of degree obtained.
- Preferred previous experience in a clinical or hospital laboratory.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range is listed above. Actual pay rate offered is determined based on experience in this role.
