About the role

Medical Assistant in an outpatient oncology infusion clinic supporting chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IV hydration, blood products, injections, iron infusions, phlebotomies, bone marrow biopsies, and other infusion therapies for oncology and non-oncology patients. Treatments also support patients on clinical research trials and those receiving combined modality therapy with radiation. Additional support provided to specialties including rheumatology, neurology, OB/GYN, gastroenterology, and primary care.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, height, and weight
• Administer subcutaneous injections and access ports
• Start peripheral IVs
• Order supplies, stock rooms, and clean patient bays
• Answer call lights, escort patients to treatment areas, and assist nursing team as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program from an accredited school, or at least 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar patient care role
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Schedule

• Day shift, typically 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with flexibility on start time
• Monday through Friday; clinics closed weekends and holidays
• Training may occur across Ann Arbor, Canton, and Brighton locations
