About the role
The Non CDL Driver I is a delivery position responsible for driving a company vehicle limited to a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 14,900. The position will be assigned stops to deliver foodservice products with a high level of service to customers. Commercial or professional driving experience preferred, but not required. Must meet the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Responsibilities
- Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
- Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
- Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location including going up and down stairs with product as necessary.
- Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation.
- Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
- Communicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority (i.e., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor, etc.).
- Deliver product to each of the designated stops following the stop sequence provided for the day.
- Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by the customer.
- Verify delivery of items with customers.
- Collect money (cash or checks) where needed.
- Maintain refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle on a consistent basis for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections such as monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash and replenishing fuel.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have valid U.S. driver's license issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
- No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years.
- Must be able to pass non DOT physical.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- One year of multi-stop delivery experience is preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.
- Hand cart delivery experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Experience with hand trucks and multi-stop deliveries.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe food handling procedures.

Pay
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $22 and $25. This job may also earn over time compensation.
Schedule
Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm (could go past 5pm and occasional Saturdays)
