About the role

Nolan Bell Design Studio is an Austin-based architecture and interior design practice focused on high-end custom residential, boutique hospitality, and thoughtfully designed commercial projects throughout Texas and beyond. Our work is grounded in a deep appreciation for context, materiality, craftsmanship, and enduring design. We believe thoughtful architecture is achieved through careful observation, rigorous design exploration, and close collaboration with our clients, consultants, and builders.

Responsibilities

  • Moves fluidly between conceptual design, material exploration, detailing, and construction documentation.
  • Contributes to and prepares comprehensive construction document sets, with an understanding of consultant coordination and detailing.
  • Understands building assemblies, detailing, and construction methods.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Works closely with principals from initial concepts through construction administration.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in architectural design, detailing, documentation, building materials, building codes, and construction technologies.
  • Thoughtful design, technical rigor, and exceptional graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience contributing to and preparing comprehensive construction document sets, with an understanding of consultant coordination and detailing.
  • Strong understanding of building assemblies, detailing, and construction methods.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-direction, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and genuine curiosity about architecture, interiors, materials, and construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
  • 4–7 years of professional experience, including experience on high-end custom residential, boutique hospitality, or thoughtfully designed commercial projects.

  • Exceptional design sensibility.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of building assemblies, detailing, and construction methods.
