Node.js Lead

About the role
The Node.js Lead will provide technical leadership for application modernization initiatives. The resource must have strong hands‑on experience in Node.js and be capable of designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting scalable backend applications. Responsibilities include ensuring solutions meet agreed standards for performance, security, reliability, maintainability, and scalability. The role requires deep knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript, backend APIs, asynchronous processing, application integration, debugging, and production‑grade development practices. The lead will drive technical design decisions, review code, establish development standards, and provide day‑to‑day technical guidance to the engineering team while collaborating with client stakeholders, product teams, architects, developers, QA, and other cross‑functional participants.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable Node.js backend applications.
- Own technical decisions, code quality, security, performance, and reliability.
- Mentor developers and collaborate with business, architecture, engineering, QA, and client teams.
Requirements
- More than 10 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Node.js.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and backend API development.
- Experience with asynchronous processing, application integration, debugging, and production‑grade development practices.
- Ability to design, develop, enhance, and support scalable backend applications.
- Experience driving technical design decisions, conducting code reviews, and establishing development standards.
- Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams including product, architecture, QA, and client stakeholders.
- Capability to support technical planning, effort estimation, issue resolution, risk identification, and delivery tracking.
Skills
- Must have: Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, backend API application development.
- Nice to have: AWS/cloud‑native development, microservices, event‑driven architecture.
