NO WEEKENDS! Pharmacy Technician III, In-Patient, Float

About the role

This position is a float position. The ability to work at various sites, depending on departmental needs throughout the MHealth Fairview system, is required. We offer hourly float premium pay, free parking, as well as mileage pay.

Responsibilities

• Partner with care providers and pharmacists to ensure that patient receives the needed medication accurately, safely, in accordance with all legal requirements and policies and in a professional and timely manner.
• Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from electronic medical record, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols, prepare drug therapy and/or dispense medication in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements.
• Maintain the IV hoods or isolators, clean room, ante room according to manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements as applicable.
• Cooky parking, as well as mileage pay.
• Coordinate ordering, delivery of medications, supplies and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested.
• Participate, coordinate or lead regulatory, quality assurance and process improvement activities and other projects as assigned.
• Facilitate the training of pharmacy technicians.
• Other responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to: data collection, reporting, process improvement and maintenance of patient education materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of sterile compounding experience.
• One year of pharmacy technician experience in a complex healthcare environment.
• Eligible to become registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MN State Board of Pharmacy and eligible to become certified with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
• Nationally certified or become certified within 12 months of employment.
• Ability to work at various sites, depending on departmental needs throughout the MHealth Fairview system.
• Ability to work the majority of the time in the I.V. Room.
• Follow all USP 795, USP 797, and USP 800 regulations related to non-sterile and sterile compounding practices.

Qualifications

• Completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• Two years of pharmacy technician experience in a complex healthcare environment.

Pay

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. Schedule

64 hours bi-weekly, Shift: day/evening, no weekends.
