What You'll Do
- Exercises reasonable latitude in determining nuclear accountability techniques to accomplish objectives.
- Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
- Provides nuclear accountability services and support to include analyzing and reporting of nuclear inventory data.
- Evaluate physical and chemical forms of materials as they are produced by various processes throughout the Y-12 site.
- Monitors and reconciles nuclear material accounts.
- Understands material manipulation processes and material flows to ensure suitable measurements are taken to appropriately account for materials.
- Acquires chemical, gamma, and other various analyses, then ensures appropriate flow-down of information is entered into the nuclear material accountability system.
- Prepares inventory statements and transactions, maintains ledgers, accounts and tables; coordination of shipments and receipts of nuclear material; and coordinates input of inventory data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Covers input of nuclear inventory data in accordance with accounting cycles, which includes preparation and review of inventory statements.
- Conducts audits and appraisals of selected nuclear material accounting functions.
- Analyzes nuclear materials inventory transactions and prepares monthly material balance reports, inventory statements, and inventory related financial statements.
- Maintains the day-to-day operations of the nuclear material accounting system to ensure integrity of nuclear materials inventory data.
- Under limited supervision makes required adjustments to data in the nuclear material accounting system to correctly reflect nuclear material inventory to ensure accountability is maintained.
- Serves as an interface between other Nuclear Sites regarding the shipping/receiving of NM and the development of Shipper/Receiver Agreements.
- Works with program management to create/review Termination of Safeguards documents to ensure that all aspects of NMC&A requirements have been met.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- OR Master's degree: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- OR 15 or more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
