About the role
We are seeking Youth Services Workers/Coach Counselors for our Intake Department at Davidson Juvenile Detention Center in Nashville, TN. This position is an affiliate of Rite of Passage, a leading national provider of programs and opportunities for troubled and at-risk youth.
Responsibilities
- Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for the youth in our program
- Create a supportive atmosphere for the needs of the students
- Monitor and document student behaviors and activities
- Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities
- Work in collaboration with other professional staff to establish and/or meet the goals of each student’s treatment plan
Requirements
- Empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- A desire to work with troubled teens
- Able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
Qualifications
- Related experience and/or education may qualify you for starting above entry-level
- This is a 42-hour workweek with 4 hours of built-in overtime
- We have two different shifts with rotating weeks of 3 days on, then 4 days off, followed by 4 days on and 3 days off
