Night Shift Utility (6pm-6am, 4 on/4 off schedule)

Clean and Maintain Housekeeping

• Clean and maintain housekeeping for sawline – minimum two times per shift
• Clean and maintain housekeeping for press pit (night shift)
• Auxiliary in areas of regrading, paint booth, strapper, and sawline as directed by shift supervisor
• Use mobile equipment, power and hand tools to process waste and reclaim material (reclaim bark for bark burner, reclaim processed wood from dryer area)
• Inspect equipment on a daily basis to ensure proper and continuous operations

Additional Duties

• Break out sawline, strapper, and forklift driver as needed
• Cross-train in other position throughout the mill to cover operational requirements
• Assist with tasks to reduce unscheduled downtime (clearing airlocks, cleaning woodburner, etc.)
• Perform basic or light preventative maintenance duties
• Perform other duties as necessary

Work Environment

• Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures and other inclement conditions

Qualifications

• Knowledge of line position duties and functions
• Knowledge of general plant clean-up and utility functions
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations
• Must possess a valid driver's license to operate mobile equipment

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 3-6 months experience in manufacturing preferred
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
