Night Shift Production Supervisor

Position Summary

Oversee and assist Shift Leaders and Operators to ensure organizational commitments regarding people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met. Collaborate with other departments to determine, analyze, and mitigate issues within the Rail Department. Responsible for ensuring that company policy and procedures are enforced and adhered to. Responsible for resolving member conflict and fostering an environment in which members are engaged.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, direction, and oversight to the Rail Team to ensure company objectives are attained regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Assigns work assignments to the Team Leaders and Operators.
• Ensures plant safety procedures are followed in order to promote personal safety and the safety of others.
• Promotes diversity, shares responsibility for success, demonstrates honesty and integrity, helps employees solve problems, and shows respect.
• Provides training to Shift Leaders and Operators.
• Ensures compliance regarding preventive maintenance and general maintenance as required.
• Performs safety checks on all machinery in the department and reports safety issues as needed.
• Identifies maintenance requirements and works with maintenance to repair equipment as required.
• Performs administrative duties and processes all required forms/paperwork.
• Affirms production schedule is followed and executed completely and on time.
• Ensures housekeeping duties are performed on the plant floor.
• Understands, supports, and follows all company policies, practices and procedures.
• Works with management team to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
• Performs other assignments as directed.

We Believe The Successful Candidate Will Have

• A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• A technical degree from a 2-year college/university (preferred).
• Three plus years of manufacturing experience (preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• A minimum of one year of leadership experience.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to help drive team development effectively.
• Self-directed, motivated, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Work schedule flexibility (on designated crews), with no advance notice, to accommodate needs of the organization.

Success Measures

• Thirty (30) days: Respond appropriately to safety-related items and have a foundation for safety continuous improvement; navigate UKG and utilize HR programs effectively; verbally explain general process for blending, grinding, Wood, PVC, and Rail operations; identify raw materials, where stored, and how used; understand performance metrics and targets, and how they are measured; be able to complete daily reporting requirements.
• Sixty (60) days: Navigate Rail systems and understand basic operations; understand yard operations; understand Rail and yard operator standard work and be able to monitor compliance; be able to complete material dispositions and enter work orders; lead Tier I meetings with team.
• Ninety (90) days: Navigate HMI systems and be familiar with control room operations; demonstrate basic troubleshooting and problem solving; conduct effective performance counseling; be an active contributor for continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $75,000 in our lowest market up to $85,000 in our highest market, plus bonus, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
