Responsibilities
- Lead Safe Operations
- Promote a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits.
- Participate in emergency response activities and maintain required certifications.
- Drive Production Performance
- Lead shift operations to meet production, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime.
- Communicate production priorities and schedule changes to team members.
- Conduct shift handoff meetings and support daily operational planning.
- Ensure Product Quality
- Monitor product quality throughout production.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and operating procedures.
- Support investigations and corrective actions related to quality issues and customer concerns.
- Develop and Lead a High-Performing Team
- Coach, mentor, and develop hourly production employees.
- Provide performance feedback and accountability.
- Support hiring, training, performance management, and employee development.
- Foster teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
- Support Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
- Lead waste reduction and process improvement initiatives.
- Promote workplace organization and operational excellence practices.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Manufacturing leadership experience within a heavy industrial nonwoven manufacturing environment, or related continuous-process industries such as textiles, paper, or converting, strongly preferred.
- SAP experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Safety-focused leader with a hands-on management style.
- Ability to motivate and develop employees.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Experience working with production metrics, reporting systems, and manufacturing technologies.
- Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Primary work location: Heavy industrial manufacturing facility.
- Work involves walking and standing for extended periods.
- Working around large-scale production equipment and automated machinery.
- Climbing stairs and accessing elevated platforms as needed.
- Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated production areas.
- Exposure to noise, temperature variations, dust, fibers, and other manufacturing conditions.
