Night Shift Monitor Tech

About the Role

The Monitor Technician observes cardiac monitors to identify arrhythmias, report changes, and ensure patient safety. They support the healthcare team by maintaining accurate telemetry records, preparing equipment, and providing excellent customer service to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and report arrhythmias promptly
• Record telemetry strips, ensure proper equipment setup, and maintain documentation
• Support patient safety by communicating rhythm changes and concerns to nurses
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, supplies, and proper functioning
• Assist with clerical duties, data retrieval, and chart preparation
• Participate in team initiatives and uphold safety and infection control policies
• Provide respectful, confidential care and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience as a monitor technician or completion of an EKG monitoring course preferred

• Ability to work under stress, understand medical terminology, and operate computer systems
