About the role

The Monitor Tech position at MercyOne Des Moines involves observing cardiac monitors for changes in cardiac rhythm and communicating these changes to the nurse caring for the patient. Responsibilities

• Monitors cardiac rhythms on telemetry units.
• Obtains and interprets rhythm strips, reporting identified changes.
• Performs clerical duties (e.g., maintenance of rhythm strips, answering phones, intercom).
• Maintains telemetry supplies (e.g., paper, batteries, patches, pouches).
• Maintains knowledge of telemetry equipment set-up, maintenance, and use.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Age 18.
• Previous health care experience, including monitor experience, preferred.
• Successful completion of monitor class.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.

Schedule
