Night Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance on all equipment.
  • Aid in training operators in minor maintenance tasks.
  • Aid operators with machine troubleshooting to correct quality issues and minimize downtime.
  • Evaluate trends/patterns on repaired equipment and implement actions to eliminate repetitive repairs.
  • Install new equipment or make upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Source and order parts as needed and assist in managing the spare parts area.
  • Complete documentation of work performed.
  • Set an example of safe work practices in every job performed.

Key Qualifications and Traits

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Certificate, degree, or apprenticeship in maintenance, millwrighting, electrical, or a mechanical trade.
  • 4+ years' experience as a highly skilled tradesperson in maintenance of mechanical power transfer systems, pneumatics, electrical and electronics, and hydraulics.
  • Basic welding and fabrication expertise preferred.
  • Competence in reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Fork truck operation and rigging experience.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Customer service inclination, understanding that the entire facility is your customer.
  • Detail oriented with a natural preference for orderliness.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Working Conditions

  • 8-hour shift working 5 nights per week (core time of 11pm to 7am) with flexibility in work hours.
  • Primarily plant floor; some office and computer time for e-mail, purchasing, research etc.
  • The plant is air conditioned, but you may work in environments that include hot/cold temperatures, wet areas, elevated and confined spaces.
  • You will not be asked to lift more than 40lbs without assistance/tools/equipment to help you.
  • Applying physical mobility that includes reaching, lifting, holding, pushing and pulling, carrying, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, arm and leg extension.
