Night Shift Highway Maintenance Technician- CTRMA

The company focuses on the operations and maintenance of transportation and public works infrastructure assets, employing professional engineers, certified quality control inspectors, and experienced maintenance technicians. Jorgensen is currently seeking full‑time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the Austin, Texas area, specifically on CTRMA.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks including debris removal, sign and guardrail repair, and concrete repair.
• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and Jorgensen company policies and procedures.
• Operate hand and power tools as required for each job.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• 0‑2 years of construction labor experience (commercial, industrial, residential, roadway, heavy civil, warehouse, etc.).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing).
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions.
• Maintain proper safety equipment for each job.
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology.
• Ability to use a smartphone and related applications.
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedules.
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.

Skills (Preferred Experience)

• Experience in guardrail installation and repair.
• Roadway or tollway maintenance experience.
• Concrete placement and repairs.
• Concrete form work.
• Operation of equipment such as Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc.
• MOT Certifications (traffic control).
• CDL A License (a plus).
• Clean driving record (essential).

Pay

• Day shift starting rate: $18.50/hr (no prior highway maintenance experience).
• Guardrail experience starting rate: $19.50/hr.
• Night shift starting rate: $19.50/hr.
• CDL Drivers rate: $26.00+/hr.

Schedule

Full time; Day shift is Monday‑Friday, 7:30am‑4:00pm. Night shift is Sunday‑Thursday. All shifts may have some night and weekend work if needed. Must be able to work during snow and ice events. Will be placed on an on‑call schedule.
