Night Shift Equipment Operator II

About the Role

An Equipment Operator II is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of moderately complex automated assembly machines. This individual will ensure the continued operation of assembly machines through interpretation of and appropriate response to machine faults and through occasional alignment of stations and fixtures. The operator performs moderately complex, repetitive tasks associated with machine operation and is expected to maintain a moderate level of equipment attentiveness. The role also involves ensuring that medical devices are assembled with the highest quality possible.

Responsibilities

• Perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a Machine Operator I
• Adjust parameters (within allowable limits) to ensure good quality and optimal machine efficiency
• Interpret machine faults and determine root cause
• Permanently rectify issues (within the validated condition of the equipment) to prevent recurring faults
• Perform minor machine adjustments, changeovers, and setups without maintenance intervention (e.g., track alignments, simple feeder bowl changes)
• Demonstrate flexibility in operating multiple machines of moderate complexity, including:
  • Machines involving press and torque fitments
  • Machines typically with fewer than 10 stations
  • Machines requiring moderate levels of operator attention
  • Machines with some station and fixture alignments

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1-3 years of experience preferred
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Basic Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word) and computer experience preferred
• Knowledge of inventory management systems
• Knowledge of machine maintenance or repair

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Use solvents, glue, or solder
• Perform visual inspections with and without magnification tools
• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Work in a clean room environment
• May be required to sit or stand for the duration of the shift
• Repetitively move and lift objects of up to 20 lbs

Travel Requirements

Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
