Equipment Operator (Night Shift)

About the role

Operate various equipment (Combilifts, hydraulic cherry pickers, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.) within our warehouse, shop, and yard.

Responsibilities

• Operate and utilize the Combilift, overhead crane, cherry pickers, and/or forklift to pick up and move heavy objects and materials
• Inspect all equipment prior to operation to ensure proper lubricants, fuel, etc., and report any problems needing immediate attention by the mechanic/maintenance department
• Check switches and gears to ensure safe equipment operation
• Utilize foot, hand, and steering controls on various equipment
• Operate all equipment safely and efficiently
• Perform rigging duties when riggers are not available to set up for lifting assignments
• Perform general labor around the warehouse, shop, and yard
• Follow instructions and job assignments with little or no supervision
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• 1+ years experience operating equipment in an industrial or yard environment
• Willingness to learn and help
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Must pass a background check

Physical Requirements

• Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing
• Turning, twisting, bending, and balancing
• Pushing, pulling, and reaching
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally 75 pounds

Desirable Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating a Combilift

Environmental Conditions

80 to 90% of work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions), dust, mud, paint thinner, and paint fumes.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the company will not sponsor work visas.
